Feel good entertainment

A most enjoyable film that keeps one entertained from the off, characters are as you might expect from the bush, rough and ready but always up for a good drink and a laugh. This story revolves around the old tried and tested good guy wins heart of beautiful woman and the respect of most of the other male characters except of course her ex boyfriend who plays the complete idiot so very well. Regretfully the ending isnt of the same value and as such I have scored 8/10

Classic fish-out-of-water comedy

CROCODILE DUNDEE is a film every bit as likable and laid back as its main character. It's really the love child of Paul Hogan, who really had no career of any kind outside of this role. CROCODILE DUNDEE is a classic fish-out-of-water comedy in which an adventurer from the Australian outback arrives in New York and proceeds to experience a vivid kind of culture shock. I normally don't care for romantic comedies, but this one's genuinely funny, with sharp one-liners and edgy humour that wouldn't pass muster these days. Hogan is excellent in the part and dripping with charisma, while Linda Kozlowski makes an impact in what could have been an insipid part. Watch out for David Gulpilil's cameo, the funniest part of the film for me.

Iconic 80s comedy

'Crocodile Dundee' is perhaps one of the most iconic films of the 80s, a unique comedy like nothing that had come before it. It's a great piece of light entertainment that gets the balance of adventure and comedy spot on. Paul Hogan had the ability to make or break this film as the title character, but thankfully he thrives in the role and is responsible for almost all of the gags and funny scenes in the movie. The film plays to its strengths, taking advantage of some common stereotypes for some very funny jokes. It has charm and charisma in abundance and is a real crowd-pleaser. It's also unlikely to ever grow old due to its uniqueness and quirky humour. 'Crocodile Dundee' is a great 80s film and one of the most iconic comedies of its time.
