So this is one of the first doll films I've ever seen and boy it was scary fun! It gets mystery from The Ring and a curse like Ju-On and I believed inspired some of the soundtrack from Jigsaw. It also feels like a M. Night Shamylan film. Basically a couple get a box with a doll named Billy in it and after a little the wife dies. Then from there he tries to find the original of the doll, every step he takes a utter scare for the audience. I honestly don't get why people hate this film. There is some crappy graphics at one point in the film but what I say is it's not always about the visuals but the story. There aren't much jump scares and is a little over rated but if they made a sequel to this masterpiece I would go out in the theaters and buy a ticket. I guess the only thing I didn't like was the lack of richness in characters but what am I to say? So James Wan is my favorite person in the film industry, starting off The Conjuring, Insidious, Saw,and so much more horror films. If Wan didn't get on in this film this film would be worse than the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4.
A young widower returns to his hometown to search for answers to his wife's murder, which may be linked to the ghost of a murdered ventriloquist.
