just another revival attempt...

With a clausul in the contract, that val kilmers daughtre shall be introduced to the silverscreenworld. how did it goe, not west, but by the salton lake, where val kilmer have spaced around in boucket of flick in past years, with no great succes that is. its an action film, also a comedycrimedrama, what to choose depends on the approach you decide to take. i think its a messy jump of intros, gun pointing, shootouts and robberies. the copsare there, but they are all criminals so call it a mediocre saga of big crime. productionwise its made for the fast shifting and multimediac you tube youngster, that can applaude a fart, and reject real good acting. there are no hilights to find here, other than comparing to other concepts like for instance the ''oceans''11-12 and so on. flashing and glorious collor and the a-z lauflingly deviced choice of score, is more a sign of a hurdlerun than emanating introductive use. its a tu-de-lu- story from start to end, and just a 5 for this salt soup from the grumpy old man. val kilmer are the old one in the film....

Just another run-of-the-mill crime thriller...

Well, this 2020 crime thriller from writer and director Christian Sesma was a pretty straight forward movie experience. Maybe to the point where it became overly generic. The storyline was adequate, although it didn't really offer anything new or overly innovative to the genre. In fact, there was nothing much here in "Paydirt" that haven't been seen in previous similar movies. That sort of kept the movie back a bit. The characters in the movie were adequate, but it just felt a bit underplayed. I feel that most characters could have been much more interesting if they were given more in-depth personalities and stories. They did, however, have an adequate assembly of casted actors and actresses. Normally, I am not much of a fan of Luke Goss, but he actually carried "Paydirt" quite well. And I was expecting Val Kilmer to have more of a bigger role, as he was listed on the front cover/poster of the movie. And truth be told, the movie's cover/poster was actually interesting, and it was the reason why I ended up sitting down to watch it. There was an okay amount of action in the movie, which definitely helped to make the movie watchable and keep the otherwise generic and mundane storyline afloat. All in all, this is just another run-of-the-mill crime thriller. So if you enjoy that genre, then chances are that you will find enjoyment in "Paydirt". I found the movie to be mediocre entertainment actually. As such, my rating of the movie lands on a five out of ten stars.
