The bad things are coming

Tony Todd has picked up a girl from school and is walking her to his place. They must be quiet or else the monsters/demons will hear them. The little girl tell Todd four horror stories. 1) a developer goes to great lengths to get a family to move. 2) White supremacist in a bunker. 3) Back up singer who wants to be a star 4) a criminal walks in his victims shoes. The stories were fairly decent. I really liked the second one having a Twilight Zone twist. Guide F-word. Brief sex. No nudity.

Copycats. writers and directors should be ashamed

3 out of the 4 stories told were copy and paste. They copied from Batteries not included Skeleton key Nothing original about this cheap garbage.

Fun and same vein, much better than the sequel.

Returning from the original film, the original writers and directors return, for more Tales from the Hood...... Starts with a man, William and his young daughter in the woods, proceeding to a building in search of meeting with her mother. Once there, the daughter proceeds to tell 4 stories to her father, all having to do with issues going on today, with exaggerated emphasis on particular issues like race, social inequality, etc. Honestly, the acting is pretty good, no big names beside Tony Todd and the writing is on par with the original, in terms of themes and setup, the only minor nitpick to some may be the absence of Mr. Simms (Which they didn't bring the original actor back in the second one anyway.) and/or the very decently done, but unfortunately subpar CGI in some scenes. It isn't so much 'distracting', but you can just tell they didn't have money for the best cgi effects. All in all, I give it a 6.5, it's much better than the sequel and a decent horror film that knows what it is, while having a few fun treks through a good mesh of some good horror comedy tropes and made the world of the series a little wider. Go in to have fun and you won't be disappointed.
