The movie should have remained behind that door that should have stayed closed...

Right, well the movie's cover/poster was interesting enough to lure me in to watch this 2020 movie from writer and director Matt Mitchell. Sure, I hadn't even heard about the movie prior to sitting down to watch it. But it being a horror movie and a new movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I would give the movie a chance and a viewing. Well, at least 35 minutes. Yeah, that is how long I managed to endure of the dribble that was "The Rizen: Possession". Well, first of all, the title alone, what is "Rizen"? An attempt to be using slang for the word "Risen"? I do not know, nor do I really care. Sadly, the movie's cover/poster was actually the most interesting aspect about this entire ordeal. The storyline told in "The Rizen: Possession" was just utter rubbish. Pardon my french. But it was such a scrambled random mess of a bundle of randomly shot scenes put together at the last moment in the editing room, or at least that is what it felt like. The storyline just entirely failed to capture my interest, much less provide me with any enjoyment or entertainment. And little did it help that the characters milling about in the movie were every bit as pointless and uninteresting as the storyline itself. So yeah, that didn't really help to promote the movie. My rating for "The Rizen: Possession", which lands on a two out of ten stars, is based solely on the production value that the movie. While it suffered from having a total lack of proper storyline and characters, the production itself was actually quite good. "The Rizen: Possession" is a movie that you might as well give a wide berth. You are not in for a grand movie experience, if you even find any enjoyment in the movie - which I didn't! Nor is it a memorable addition to the horror genre, much less a memorable movie in itself. This is not a movie that I would recommend you wasting your time, money or effort on. Some of us did - in greater or smaller extend - so you don't have to.

Flash back

For a British psychological horror, this is not too bad. This reminds me of a better film that I regard as a classic called Overlord. It is a given that this film is no where in that League but it is ok. I would suggest that you watch this film then see Overlord and then you will understand the vast difference between them: From the pretender to the classic.
