Finally The Rock has come back to Film!

In what has been marked as a very anticipated film this summer, I bet you hands down that it is the only one which doesn't fall short. The Scorpion King comes through with great action, romance for all the ladies, girlfriends and Rock-ets, as well as comedy, and SNL shows how well The Rock does comedy (Not to mention the WWF!). This film takes time out to laugh at its self, which you have to respect an action film that knows it is not an Oscar winner. Overall, a movie that makes you say, "Now that was worth 8 bucks!" and really mean it this time. I thought that the movie had everything it promised and then some. A good beginning to what looks like a long run for The Rock in film. If you haven't seen this film yet - what is wrong with you!? Go...go now! The summer rush is just starting, and an old fashion "Conan"-style Action spectacular is just the way to kick it off!

The Rock's first film is also a tribute to Conan imagine that..

A desert warrior rises up against the evil army that is destroying his homeland. He captures the enemy's key sorcerer, takes her deep into the desert and prepares for a final showdown. The Scorpion King is a fun throwback to 80's action Series Conan The Barbarian and Conan The Destroyer starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and on it's own? The film stand out well thanks to an impressive and talent cast of names like The Rock, Grant Heslov, Kelly Hu and Michael Clarke Duncan. It's fun, action packed and a total action packed adventure for fans of The Rock and fans of action films in general. (A+)

Brendan Fraser < The Rock

As dumb & cheesy as this movie is (specifically in the emotions and performances), it's every bit as fun. Director Russell gives us action / comedy scenes that have more cinematic flair than I would've expected in a throw-away spin-off (pulling guys through sand-waterfall). The Rock was already a charismatic star in this, his first leading role, mugging with awesome ease. If you're a fan of the Fraser Mummy films (which, why wouldn't you be?!), you'll find this fits that universe's unabashedly goofy tone perfectly.
