Lets hope they don't forget movies are good and bad are made regardless of sex of director or race or colour. The most important thing is fredom of directors and writers, which is being eroded and voices not heard and stories not being told. This doc movie starts so promising with all the glitz and famous faces, i hold Geena Davis as one of the greatest female actresses and liked her films especially The Long Kiss Goodnight and Thelma & Louise. I also enjoy watching Meryl Streep and Reese Witherspoon movies and was glad to hear how Reese has created such a well executed production company and watched the movies without knowing who made them. They talk about female directors but failed to talk about Angelina Jolie who directed Unbroken which was a big hit and one of best films made recently. The amount of good movies seems to be on the decline in Hollywood with a foreign film winning best Oscar. Then they talk about woman in movies as 2017 being their year but failed to talk about how bad the movies were even though they were produced by men. Shape of water has a woman pleasuring herself whilst cooking an egg, but shes deaf so that a giant leap for women lets run to the hills shouting out load. The Star Wars: The Last Jedi also directed by a man leaves fans somewhat not amused, not because of a female lead role who we all liked in force awakens but because the lack of direction of the character. Wonder woman was talked about being a hit but i though it lacked a good story. It was Director: Patty Jenkins but Writers: Allan Heinberg (screenplay by), Zack Snyder both men, the next one should be better with jenkins directing and writing, well just have to wait, she also directed and wrote the film Monster. The program also talks about Weinstein and how they all stood against him, which is a positive step by still is a problem that industry needs to fix with young women being treated and Sexualized by producers. The program also gets sidelined talking about race which is another subject and how one man found lots of black directors and actors. On the whole this could be either be a negative or a positive move for the movie industry or just another spin of lies to sell movies to women with the final edit being made by a man or a group of men. The amount of series and movies being made requires more directors and stories written by both men and women to meet demand, the sex colour or sexuality of the director ,doesn't matter and doesn't automatically makes something better for the viewers.
